At Hellenic Sun Gifts, our love for Greek culture isn’t just in our products — it’s in our purpose. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce a meaningful way we’re putting philotímō (φιλότιμο) — the beautiful Greek concept of honor, generosity, and doing what’s right — into action this year through charitable giving.

A Year of Giving — Dates That Matter

We will donate 15% of all sales from orders placed on the following meaningful days:

📅 February 17 — Random Acts of Kindness Day
📅 September 5 — International Day of Charity
📅 November 15 — National Philanthropy Day
📅 December 1 — Giving Tuesday

These aren’t just dates on a calendar; they’re opportunities to spread kindness, uplift communities, and make a real impact together.

Half of every dedicated donation from these days will be sent to the Hellenic Preservation Society of Northeastern Ohio and the other half to the Greek America Foundation, two organizations doing exceptional work to preserve Greek culture and support humanitarian efforts at home and abroad.

Supporting the Hellenic Preservation Society of NEO

The Hellenic Preservation Society of Northeastern Ohio (HPS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to preserving and promoting the Greek cultural experience in the Cleveland area and beyond. Through educational programs, lectures, exhibits, community engagement, and cultural collections, HPS ensures that the heritage, language, and traditions of the Hellenic world stay alive and accessible for future generations.

Supporting the Greek America Foundation

I have a personal connection to this next organization. Growing up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, I was classmates with Gregory C. Pappas, who would go on to become the founder and president of the Greek America Foundation, a nonprofit that uplifts Greek culture, ideals, and humanitarian work. In 2023, I reconnected with Greg in Cleveland, Ohio; since then, I’ve been honored to support his foundation when I can.

The Greek America Foundation, based in New York, focuses on promoting, preserving, and perpetuating Greek culture, history, and ideals across North America and abroad. Their mission blends education, philanthropy, cultural events, and humanitarian aid — centered around values like philotímō, excellence, and service.

Impactful Initiatives

Here are a few of the meaningful programs and events the Greek America Foundation is currently advancing:

✨ 2026 Do Good Challenge — A year-long initiative encouraging individuals and communities to commit to one act of goodness in 2026, big or small, to benefit the foundation’s work.

🌍 Greek America Corps — Summer volunteer programs in Greece that provide immersive service opportunities, addressing issues like homelessness, food insecurity, and refugee support while fostering cultural exchange and lifelong impact.

🎓 Scholarships and Cultural Recognition — From study abroad opportunities like Semester in Athens and other educational awards, to programs like “Forty Under 40” that celebrate achievement and contribution within the community.
